The book “MyLand – Adventures around Trinidad and Tobago” is the first of its kind, and was developed in line with the Primary School Syllabus as outlined by the Ministry of Education. The book is interactive and visually stimulating, and young children are introduced to the original inhabitants of our land and one by one, “the people who came” in order for them to better appreciate the melting pot that is our nation Trinidad and Tobago. It is engaging, captivating and inspires a desire for reading and learning as our festivals and public holidays are presented in a chronological order from January to December. The history behind our Public Holidays like Spiritual Baptist Liberation Day and Indian Arrival Day are intermixed with some of our festivals like Carnival, Phagwa, Easter, Hosay and Divali. Each topic comes with its own activity to completely immerse the students in the lesson.
