About Everlast Although the name Everlast is synonymous with boxing, the company actually started out as a swimwear manufacturer in the Bronx in 1910. The son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, 17-year-old Jacob Golomb grew dissatisfied with the flimsy swimsuits of the time, which barely lasted a season. In subsequent years, Golomb transformed his company into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment.
